In a newly released segment, Zakrevskaya addressed whether conflicts in the Middle East have diverted attention from Ukraine. She noted that while media and diplomatic bandwidth is limited, Western governments continue to prioritize Ukraine when it comes to military assistance and long-term security commitments. “The greater risk lies in donor fatigue and shifting voter priorities across the U.S. and EU,” she observed.

The discussion also touched on China’s position. For Beijing, Zakrevskaya explained, Ukraine is not a primary concern but rather part of a wider strategy: “China views Ukraine through the prism of global instability and potential economic gain. A frozen conflict suits Beijing, as it weakens the West without requiring China’s direct involvement.”

The full interview — covering China’s alliances, India’s balancing act, the Middle East, and implications for business strategy — is available here.

In this episode Boldozer Consulting founder and University Viktoriya Zakrevskaya joined the First Ukrainian Podcast, produced in cooperation with the United Ukraine Think Tank, for a wide-ranging 45-minute conversation on global security, shifting alliances, and the role of Ukraine in an unstable world order.
