Ihor Petrenko is a political scientist and media strategist specializing in wartime communications, counter-propaganda, and public policy analysis. He brings combined academic and operational expertise to the development of resilient media ecosystems in times of national crisis.


He holds a doctorate in political science and serves as a professor in the Department of Political Science at Taras Shevchenko National University, where he teaches political risk, public policy analysis, and methods of political research. His academic work includes over 70 publications on public policy formation, political decision-making, and the role of think tanks in governance.


Since 2022, Ihor has served as the head of We - Ukraine, a national media group established in response to wartime information needs. Under his leadership, the platform has developed and broadcast a range of political and foreign affairs programs focused on strategic communication, international positioning, and public resilience. He oversees editorial direction, public messaging strategy, and integration with national information policy efforts.


Earlier in his career, he held senior positions in policy research and political communications, including as director of internal policy at a prominent think tank, editor-in-chief of a regional political newspaper, and expert advisor in EU-supported governance reform programs.


In 2023, he co-founded the think tank United Ukraine, where he continues to contribute to international briefing formats, wartime narrative strategy, and the development of credible, evidence-based public communications.
